About Us
Cards for Courage is an international 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Maryland, USA that was founded by three undergraduate students at Johns Hopkins University. Our mission is to provide emotional support to hospital patients through hand-drawn cards with uplifting messages.
Since the launch of our global COVID-19 project that extends support services to healthcare workers, Cards for Courage volunteers have delivered thousands of cards and connected with healthcare institutions across four countries and 26 US states and territories.
Meet Our Team
Executive Team
Anna is a first-year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania and a 2020 graduate of Johns Hopkins. Her hometown is Fremont, California and she loves calligraphy, photography, Asian food, and everything outdoors.
Elaine grew up in Chino Hills, California. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2020 with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and is currently a first-year medical student at UC Irvine. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and visiting cute dessert shops in the neighborhood.
Archita is from Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2021 with a B.A. in Public Health Studies and Biology. In her free time, she loves traveling, camping, reading, and watching the latest sci-fi movies.

Emilie is from Fairfax, Virginia and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Neuroscience and Psychology. In her free time, she loves drawing buildings, watching nature documentaries, and baking bread.
Natalie is currently pursuing her M.Ed. in Student Affairs at the UCLA School of Education & Information Studies. She previously graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Sociology and minor in Education Studies. Her hometown is Fremont, CA, and her hobbies include dancing, backpacking/camping, and rock climbing.

Kevin is from Fremont, CA and will be attending Purdue University as an incoming freshman with a double major in Communication and Theatre. He likes to hang out with friends, play games, design flyers, do art, watch shows and movies, and sleep.
Michelle graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2021 with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Neuroscience, & Psychology. She grew up in Fremont, California, but is now enjoying city-life in San Francisco where she frequents cute coffee shops and explores delicious food with even better company. In her free time, she loves reading, biking/roller-blading, and watching asian dramas.

Judy graduated from UC Berkeley in 2019, and is now a first-year medical student at UC San Francisco. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking, and searching for the best Taiwanese street food.

Esther is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Public Health and Neuroscience. She hails from Torrance, California and enjoys bullet journaling, dancing, and trying out new restaurants in her free time.

Gill is from Cupertino, California. She is a junior majoring in Medicine, Science, & the Humanities at Johns Hopkins University. She loves working with children and in her free time, you can find her either being a couch potato or out with her friends.
