About Us
Cards for Courage is an international 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Maryland, USA that was founded by three undergraduate students at Johns Hopkins University. Our mission is to provide emotional support to hospital patients through hand-drawn cards with uplifting messages.
Since the launch of our global COVID-19 project that extends support services to healthcare workers, Cards for Courage volunteers have delivered thousands of cards and connected with healthcare institutions across four countries and 26 US states and territories.
Meet Our Team
Executive Team
Anna graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2020 with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Business. Her hometown is Fremont, California and she loves calligraphy, photography, Asian food, and working up a good sweat at the gym.
Elaine grew up in Chino Hills, California. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2020 with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and visiting cute dessert shops in the neighborhood.
Archita is from Overland Park, Kansas and will graduate from Johns Hopkins University in 2021 with a B.A. in Public Health Studies and Biology. She loves drawing, traveling, going on hikes, reading, and watching the latest sci-fi movies.

Emilie, a native of Fairfax, Virginia, is a Neuroscience and Psychology double major at Johns Hopkins University graduating in Fall 2020. Her hobbies include drawing buildings, watching nature documentaries, and baking desserts and bread.
Natalie is a 2020 graduate from UCLA with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Education Studies. Originally from Fremont, California, she currently works part-time as a Teacher's Assistant in LA. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, cooking, journaling, and backpacking!

Claire is a 2020 graduate from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She was born and raised in San Jose, California, and enjoys hand-lettering and designing her bullet journal, cooking and baking new recipes, and working out in her free time.
Michelle enjoys playing the guitar, singing, biking, and doing yoga. She is from Fremont, California, but lived in Texas for 8 years before that. She is a junior at Johns Hopkins studying Molecular Cellular Biology, Psychology, and Neuroscience.

Esther is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Public Health and Neuroscience. She hails from Torrance, California and enjoys bullet journaling, dancing, and trying out new restaurants in her free time.

Gill is from Cupertino, California. She is a junior majoring in Medicine, Science, & the Humanities at Johns Hopkins University. She loves working with children and in her free time, you can find her either being a couch potato or out with her friends.

Delvin is a vending business entrepreneur who enjoys visiting the arcade, cooking, and boxing. He is a senior majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a minor in Science Education at UC San Diego.

Judy graduated from UC Berkeley in 2019 with a B.S. in Nutritional Science. She currently resides in Fremont, California. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking, and dreaming about Taiwanese street food.

Ellie is a senior at Johns Hopkins University studying Public Health and Women’s Gender Sexuality. She currently resides in Chicago, Illinois. Her hobbies include studying the violin, directing an a cappella group, volunteering in various organizations on campus, and blogging.
